Just before the ceasefire agreement came into effect: The 769th Brigade Combat Team, under the command of the 91st Division and in cooperation with the Air Force, completed a focused and powerful operation in the village of Davin, Lebanon - approximately 12 kilometers deep inside Lebanon.
The forces operated with the aim of removing immediate threats and damaging Hezbollah's terrorist infrastructure - just before the fighting stopped.
During the operation, forces from the "Sabra" battalion raided the terrorist organization's preparation complex in the village, after identifying extensive terrorist activity there and intelligence indications of attempts to carry out terrorist plots against IDF forces and citizens of the country.
The fighters on the ground, with close support from the Air Force, managed to surprise Hezbollah and neutralize the infrastructure that was ready for action.
During the fighting, more than 70 terrorist targets were attacked and over 20 terrorists were eliminated, some in short-range exchanges of fire in hand-to-hand combat and some through precise air strikes.
The IDF notes that the operation is intended to ensure that Hezbollah forces will not be able to exploit the moments of transition to the ceasefire to harm our forces.
