Shas Chairman, MK Aryeh Deri, responded this afternoon (Wednesday) to the uproar over the video published by Channel 12 reporter Inbar Twizer, in which she documented the humiliation of two young Haredi men - aged 17 and 13 and a half - and condemned the act.
Deri, the first politician to address the affair that is stirring up social media, said in response to the shocking video: "The people of Israel have always been characterized by special characteristics: merciful, shy, and reciprocating kindness.".
""The serious event that happened today does not symbolize the people of Israel, and therefore today we must do the opposite. Be merciful and reciprocate. I am donating 1,000 NIS to that needy family for a bride's wedding, and I call on all my friends and all the people of Israel to do so. The people of Israel are alive.".

The 'Hotem' organization, which leads social change through education in Israel, responded on the X network: "Imagine two secular people coming to Rabbi Firr's house to ask for help and then he asks them, 'Do you keep Shabbat kosher? Did you pray?' They start to stutter...
