Accident on Highway 1 between a truck carrying gas cylinders and a bus: 30-year-old in serious condition

Complex rescue operations: A serious car accident occurred today (Monday) between a truck and a bus on Highway 1, near the Anaba Interchange. 

Rescue forces called to the scene provided initial medical treatment and evacuated a 30-year-old man to Shamir Assaf Harofeh Hospital in serious condition, with multiple systemic injuries, and a 39-year-old bus driver to Kaplan Hospital in mild condition.

MDA emergency medical technician Eli Eisenbach said: "We arrived at the scene quickly and saw a serious car accident between a bus and a truck. The truck had severe metal damage to its front end and we saw gas cylinders that were in the truck scattered near the accident.

""A man about 30 years old was sitting next to the truck driver, trapped and unconscious. During complex rescue operations, we provided him with medical treatment, and after he was rescued, we evacuated him in an MDA intensive care unit to the hospital in serious condition.".

""Another MDA team provided medical treatment to the bus driver, a 39-year-old woman, and then evacuated her to the hospital in mild condition.".

Akiva Kaufman, a senior paramedic at the United Hatzalah, who arrived first at the scene, and paramedics Menachem Shulman and Ze'evi Karshinsky: "This is an accident involving a truck and a bus. A passenger sitting next to the truck driver was rescued by fire crews while he was without a pulse and breathing and in critical condition.

""Also: We provided first aid to the truck driver who was evacuated by a United Hatzalah ambulance to a hospital in moderate condition, and to the bus driver who was slightly injured.".
