A member of the Shas Rishon LeZion Council of Torah Sages, Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, attacked the High Court of Justice judges this evening (Saturday night), in his weekly class - for desecrating the Sabbath in issuing the decision to permit the left-wing demonstration in Habima Square in Tel Aviv.
Sitting next to the former Sephardic Chief Rabbi was the Rabbi of the Western Wall and the Holy Places, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz.
Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef: "What did His Honor expect from them, to hold a discussion on Shabbat and say that it is forbidden? Whoever expects from these secularists and these infidels, what, they are infidels, neither religion nor law, desecrators of Shabbat, pork, incest, they have it all. There is nothing to expect from them.
""His Honor will try to ask for more than 50, 600 tomorrow, he will say, why are they discriminating? If in Kaplan, what is it called, they do 600, then at the Western Wall they also need 600, there is a place to enter immediately, no matter what the alarm, they will enter the tunnel immediately, what happened?".
""But they will not listen to you. Do not pin your hopes on them, on these wicked ones. God will help that our righteous Messiah will come, 'and our judge will return as at first.' All these judges, the first ones that God, the Blessed, will take away... (The audience answers Amen).
Former Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, a Shas rabbi and brother of the current Chief Rabbi, also lashes out at the judges: "All our troubles in matters of religion and state here, including the recruitment of yeshiva students - all of this is because of these wicked judges. Later in the lesson, he clarified: "I said about the judges that the Holy One, blessed be He, will destroy them, God forbid. I didn't mean that you would destroy them, God forbid, violence? Of course not! The Holy One, blessed be He, will give them their punishment.".
