During a luncheon with senior administration officials on Wednesday, President Donald Trump mocked French President Emmanuel Macron - recounting the conversation he had with him when he called to ask for help in opening the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump mentioned the incident in which Brigitte Macron slapped the president in the face, and mocked Macron to the laughter of those present.
""I'm calling France, Macron, whose wife treats him very badly. He's still recovering from the blow to the jaw," Trump mocked.

""I say to him: 'Emanuel, we would love to have help even though we are breaking records in eliminating bad people and ballistic missiles, if you could send ships immediately.' And he replied: 'No, no, I can't do that, Donald. We can do that after the war is won.'.

The French news agency AFP reported a cross-party storm in France against President Trump over the mockery.
Macron, the president hostile to Israel, commented on Trump's words and said: "They are not elegant, and not up to the mark.".
