
United States President Donald Trump addressed the events in Iran today (Tuesday), calling on demonstrators to continue their protests and fight against the government.
The president wrote on his social media: "Iranian patriots, keep protesting - take control of your institutions!!! Preserve the names of the murderers and abusers, they will pay a heavy price.".
He said, "I have canceled all meetings with Iranian officials until the brutal, senseless killing of protesters stops. Help is on the way.".
Leader of the Islamic Republic Ali Khamenei today called the protesters in the streets "terrorists" and wrote that government forces "will put them in their place.".
Khamenei accused the demonstrators of turning the protests into "chaos" and called it "chaos into blind terrorism.".
Iranian Army Commander Amir Hatami stated: "The preparations made in the last six months, after the 12-Day War, are fully adapted to the type of threats. Today we are stronger than before the war. The threat of the Zionist regime against Iran is real. Therefore, we take it seriously and prepare accordingly.".
The Iran International network published a report this morning stating that at least 12,000 people have been killed in recent days as a result of the violent suppression of protests against the regime in Tehran.
According to the report, the murder of protesters occurred mainly over the past weekend and reached large areas of the country in an attempt to suppress the mass demonstrations that broke out against the regime.
