In her story, alongside an excerpt from her podcast "Between the Drops," which she hosts with Dana Benisti, she confronts the public concern she experienced when she began observing Shabbat, in the face of the deafening silence when she dated a non-Jew.
""In our conversation, Dana shares that her daughter wants to keep Shabbat and it makes her tremble," Abergil wrote. "I asked her why? And does she tremble in the face of everything she does or anything related to religion? We warmed up and an interesting discussion ensued.".
The heated discussion revealed what Abergil defines as inconsistency: "When I was with a Gentile, no one asked me why. No one worried. No one was scared. But when I said I was keeping Shabbat, suddenly everyone was worried.
""So I really ask: Isn't it a little strange? Do we really choose what we want, or do we simply live according to what the world asks of us?".
