Internet influencer Corinne Gideon and her husband, businessman Hili Sorotzkin, traveled yesterday (Monday) to the grave of Rabbi Meir Baal HaNes in Tiberias - and the joint journey moved Corinne so much that she was unable to hold back her tears.
In the photos she uploaded, Sorotzkin is seen standing in Zion, and alongside them, Gideon shared moments from the scene. The story included a view of a burning candle and a shelf of notes laden with prayers from worshippers. Alongside the photo, she wrote: "Amen to everything.".
She then also published a personal thought and wrote: "To 20-year-old Corinne, it would have sounded completely insane. So who, like me, understands the cynicism. But there really is something liberating, cleansing and healing in these prayers, in these places.".
She said that this was the first time she had discovered that there was a special prayer that was said at the grave of Rabbi Meir Baal HaNes. She then uploaded a video of herself crying online, and tried to lighten the situation by saying, "Well, I cried during prime time... so phew.".
Hili Sorotzkin comes from an ultra-Orthodox family of 14 children, living in Tellstone. He is the nephew of the Pittsburgh Rebbe. Corinne, a former television host, grew up in a secular home. She often shares on social media about her connection to the ultra-Orthodox side of the family.
The couple has three children: Alona, Rafael and Levi.
