After being fired from Haaretz: Journalist Haim Levinson announced this evening (Thursday) the end of his role as host of the program "Ophira and Levinson" on Keshet 12.
In a statement he published on his X-Files, Levinson noted that he made the decision due to a breach of public trust in him.
""I informed my employers tonight that I have decided to end my hosting of the 'Ophira and Levinson' program on the channel. Journalism is based on trust," he wrote. "Some viewers have lost their trust in me, and under these circumstances, I thought it was right for me to end it.".
Levinson referred to his arrival on television as a "beautiful adventure," adding that "I wasn't born on television and I promised myself I wouldn't die on television. I didn't work at Keshet for many years, but in the short time I was there, I saw a professional and humane workplace that sees a mission in gluing together the puzzle of Israeli society - sometimes with masking tape and sometimes with cellophane tape.".
