Transportation Minister Bezalel Smotrich refuses to accept the "weak apology," as he put it, from Hadashot 13 reporter Omri Maniv, following the false publication of the words of Rabbi Assaf Namburg from the Otzem seminary.
The minister also rebelled against the so-called "joy of Eid," which Maniv accused some of the politicians who attacked him of, after the full recordings of the preparatory school rabbi were revealed.
In a tweet on his personal Twitter account, Smotrich wrote: "No Omri, we are not 'happy for the Eid.' We are hurt and outraged against a false and defamatory, vile, planned and continuous hate campaign that you and your friends have been leading for a long time against Judaism and religious Zionism.".
He added: "I don't buy this weak apology of yours and certainly not the condescension at the end of it. The victim is not you but Rabbi Namburg and all of religious Zionism.".
""His words in this series of lessons are so clear to anyone who listens to them that one of two things is true: either you and your editors are amateurs, ignorant and lacking in comprehension, or you are lying and knew the truth and yet decided to take things out of context in order to defame. Either way, you are unworthy of being called a journalist and continuing your work. You are disrespecting it.".
Meanwhile, in a sharp letter to the Second Authority, the heads of Mina demand that a comprehensive investigation be opened with News 13, along with the immediate suspension of the reporter who published the partial quotes.
