Following an undercover investigation, police raided the homes of two residents of the village of Tzurif, in their 30s, on suspicion that they acted as a "squad" and broke into homes in the Beit Shemesh area.
The arrest was made after an undercover investigation that took place over the past two weeks, following several break-ins to homes in Ramat Beit Shemesh and the surrounding area, during which property was stolen.
The undercover investigation, which incorporated advanced technological means alongside extensive intelligence work, led to the identification of two suspects who, according to the suspicion, acted together as a gang and broke into homes in Ramat Beit Shemesh and the surrounding area.
Tonight, as mentioned, with the investigation moving into the open phase, police detectives, in cooperation with IDF forces at the Etzion Police Headquarters, raided the homes of the suspects in Tzurif, and during the search, the police seized jewelry and property with Hebrew inscriptions that were suspected to have been stolen recently.
The suspects were arrested and brought for questioning at the Beit Shemesh police station on suspicion of burglary and theft, and today they will be brought before the court to extend their detention.
Meanwhile, police caught three young men red-handed on suspicion of breaking into a business in Ramat Beit Shemesh earlier this week.
Upon receiving the report of the break-in, police began extensive searches, locating three suspects within a few minutes - a 19-year-old man and two boys around 16 years old from Ramat Beit Shemesh nearby, and a cash register containing cash that was suspected to have been stolen from the business was seized near them.
The suspects were arrested and questioned at the Beit Shemesh police station. The two minors were released under house arrest. The 19-year-old suspect's detention was extended in court.
