The activity of the municipal policing unit in the city of Ashdod prevented a risk to the public: a 13-year-old boy was caught driving a vehicle that he and his two friends are suspected of stealing.
After a short chase, they were arrested and taken to the police for questioning, after which they were released under restrictive conditions.
The arrest was made after, during their shift, the municipal police team spotted a Ford Focus vehicle traveling rapidly, making sharp turns - which raised their suspicions.
The team began driving after the vehicle and signaled for it to pull over. However, the driver of the vehicle increased speed and began a chase, during which the suspect vehicle entered a dead-end street, where the police team "closed in" on the suspects, who turned out to be minors.
The 13-and-a-half-year-old driver of the car, and his two 14-year-old friends, allegedly stole the car from Block C in the city, and claimed they wanted to "take a spin" in the nearby orchards.
The three were taken to the city police station for questioning. Their parents were also summoned to the station, and at the end of their questioning, the minors were released under restrictive conditions for house arrest.
