Eli Levy moves from News 10 to Channel 20's news lineup

Eli Levy, 41, joins Channel 20 as a police and criminal affairs reporter - in the channel's new news lineup, which will air in the coming months. At the same time, he will cover the northern region.

For the past seven years, Levy has served as a correspondent for Haifa and the North on Channel 10. At the same time, Levy hosts the weekly radio program 'Zira Hoshit' on Radio Haifa together with Yossi Mizrahi, which he will continue to host.

Levy began his professional career upon his discharge from the IDF, when he began working as a journalist for the Schocken network in the north of the country. He later served as a reporter for local cable news, Haifa Radio, and covered the northern region for Maariv and NRG.

Over the years, Levy covered the IDF's departure from Lebanon, the October 2000 riots, the Shalit family's struggle until Gilad's return, the Second Lebanon War, Operation Protective Edge, the Carmel fire disaster, and more.

Levy also previously served as spokesman for the Nesher Municipality.

For his coverage of the Second Lebanon War, Levy won the 2006 Marc Biano Award. In 2009, he received a special award from the Hesed Association for a series of articles dealing with the plight of Holocaust survivors and the elderly in the Haifa area. Last November, he won the Best Current Affairs Program Award for 2016 at the Eilat Journalism Conference, for presenting 'Free Arena' on Haifa Radio.

Last week, Noam Amir joined Channel 20's new news lineup, as the military and security correspondent. Amir has covered the field for Maariv in recent years.
