Menachem Cohen, the editor of the Chabad-COL website, announced today his retirement from the position after 10 years. Haredim 10 learned this.
Cohen, 29, a resident of the city of Elad, will now devote his time to his main role - editor of 'Kfar Chabad', the weekly magazine of Chabad Hasidim.
Cohen began his journalistic career at the age of 15 at the weekly magazine 'Kfar Chabad', which he currently edits. Previously, for about 3.5 years, he was one of the editors of the 'Kachar Hashabbat' website.
In a message to his friends, Menachem Cohen wrote: "After challenging and fascinating years on the COL website, I resigned from my position this week. These were significant years in my life, in which I enjoyed reporting to the masses of surfers on the activities of Chabad emissaries in Israel and around the world, on what was happening in the communities of Chabad followers in the Diaspora, on special discoveries from the Rebbe's life and on the annals of Chabad.".
""We were privileged to bring, together with the wonderful team, many journalistic achievements (starting with interviews with the top of the country, important rabbis and governors of countries around the world and a number of senior figures, alongside a host of unique projects) that received impressive exposure and positioned COL as a leading and popular news site, one that maintains clean language and the purity of advertising, one that puts its responsibility before the journalistic "scoop," one that puts humanity at the top of the list of priorities, one that is disciplined to the instructions and guidance of the rabbis, one that prefers positive items and sacred to the name of God and not the other way around, God forbid.".
""This is the place to thank the wonderful, dedicated and responsible team of the site for their joint and interesting work, and of course the dedicated director Yossi Rivkin and his father Molik (without whom this dynamic enterprise would not exist).".
The Chabad-COL website, owned by the Rivkin family, was founded 16 years ago by journalist David Rotenberg, currently the editor-in-chief of the Haredim 10 website, and computer scientist Pini Garlick.
