Elbit unveiled today (Monday) in Haifa the weapon The new Seagull cruise, showcasing its suspicious and groundbreaking capabilities.

The Seagull is defined as a multi-mission unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that operates with high autonomy, and is designed for missions in the field of anti-submarine warfare and operations against naval obstacles. It is also suitable for security missions, electronic warfare, and auxiliary missions, such as underwater mapping.

The new vessel, which has been described as groundbreaking, is 12 meters long and has the ability to stay at sea for more than 96 continuous hours.

It carries an advanced navigation system (sonar) that allows it to avoid obstacles. According to the developers at Elbit, it could change the doctrine of anti-submarine warfare by using efficient means that replace manned vessels and reduce the risk to operators.

Elad Aharonson, CEO of Elbit's Intelligence Division, said: "We believe we have a groundbreaking solution that will revolutionize underwater operating methods and meet the increasing needs in Israel and around the world in this important field.".

""We offer unmanned vessels for tasks that have been handled to date by expensive manned vessels.".

Elbit believes that there will also be demand for the vessel in question around the world.

There is currently an unmanned Rafale-made vessel in use by the Navy, but it is intended more for combat and observation, while Elbit's new vessel is also intended for anti-submarine warfare.
