The Attorney General's Office announced this evening (Monday) that it is refusing the mediator's proposal in the dormitory case - and is demanding a criminal conviction for Prime Minister Netanyahu's wife, Sara.
However, another hearing was scheduled between representatives from the Jerusalem District Attorney's Office, which is handling the case, and the mediator - Judge Mordechai Kaduri.
According to a report on Channel 12, the announcement of the refusal came amid disagreements between Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit and the Jerusalem District Attorney's Office.
While representatives of the prosecution are demanding that the prime minister's wife confess and be convicted of a criminal offense - no matter which one - the attorney general hopes to end the case through mediation and not have it dragged out in court for a long time.
Mandelblit instructed the prosecution to try to reach mediation to avoid dragging the case into lengthy court hearings.
The mediator offered the Prime Minister's wife two options: admit to a criminal offense that would lead to a conviction or return about half a million shekels, in exchange for closing the criminal case against her.
