כוחות הנדסה של צה"ל בשיתוף לוחמי משמר הגבול והמנהל האזרחי הרסו הלילה (רביעי) את ביתו של המחבל חסין מוחמד חסין אבו גוש בקלנדיה, שביצע יחד עם מחבל נוסף פיגוע דקירה ביישוב בית חורון, בו נרצחה שלומית קריגמן הי"ד.
במהלך הריסת הבית התפתחו הפרות סדר ופורעים ערבים השליכו אבנים, בקבוקי תבערה, בלוקים ומטען מאולתר לעבר הכוחות.
כתוצאה מכך, נפצעו שני חיילים באורח קל.
