""It is clear that the Netanyahu government in its current form will not finish 2015." These words were said by Yisrael Beiteinu Chairman Avigdor Lieberman at a cultural event held in Be'er Sheva.
""You can't run a government where you depend on the lone voice of a Knesset member who will come up with justified or unjustified demands," said the former foreign minister, who added that there is a significant gap between him and Netanyahu: "There are differences in worldview between us. I cannot accept the prime minister's approach that we cannot build in Jerusalem, and the nation-state law was also pushed aside. When he dissolved the Knesset, we knew that he had closed with the ultra-Orthodox parties, he sold everything to them.".
As for his surprising position on the gas issue, in which he avoided supporting the coalition at the last minute, Lieberman said: "What we saw on the gas issue will certainly be seen more dramatically in the budget discussions, and therefore we will probably have to get used to the changes or we will go to elections.".
""Yisrael Beiteinu will vote only in a matter-of-fact manner and will deal with each case on its own merits. We voted against the government on the gas issue and supported it in other votes, such as the no-confidence motion submitted by the Joint List, and we will continue to do so. We will also examine the budget in a matter-of-fact manner," he said.
Liberman referred to the rocket fire that has resumed in recent weeks: "A year has passed since 'Protective Edge' and we saw three Grad missiles land in the south of the country. There has been a damage to Israeli deterrence since 'Protective Edge', no one is counting us out, not in Gaza, not in Sinai, and not in the negotiations with Iran in Vienna.".
""In all areas, there is no master and no strategy. We neither initiate nor are led, we only react," said Lieberman, calling for cooperation with the Egyptians: "We need to increase cooperation with Egyptian intelligence, it is in our interest. We need to be of assistance to them. Gaza serves as a haven for many ISIS operatives. Israel must not operate in Sinai. It would be a mistake if we operated alone in Sinai.".
Regarding the attack on Brigade Commander Binyamin by a young man who was shot by him in response, Liberman said, "It is intolerable that soldiers are willing to be hurt in order not to face an investigation later. I hope that the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee will discuss this and bring about a change in procedures so that soldiers can defend themselves.".
