Druze residents of Israel cross the United Nations buffer zone at the Kuneitra Crossing, in the Golan Heights, which Israel captured from Syria in the 1967 Mideast war and later annexed, on their way to a religious pilgrimage, Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009. Over 500 pilgrims crossed over into Syria on Thursday for religious celebrations, at the grave site of the Druze prophet Habil. The Kuneitra crossing opens infrequently for civilians, notably for the annual pilgrimage and for weddings between Druze from opposite sides of the armistice line.
