The Ministry of Transportation, the Innovation Authority, the Civil Aviation Authority, and the Ayalon Airlines Company are launching a third 'call for proposals' as part of the Israel Air Transportation Initiative - designed to expand the activities of the national initiative, which places Israel at the forefront of global innovation in the field of drones and UAVs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The National Drone Project is part of the Ministry of Transportation's vision to create a smart, safe, and sustainable transportation system for the benefit of all Israeli citizens. The project is a unique experimental platform that combines advanced technology, innovative regulation, and diverse civilian applications, including future commercial uses such as express deliveries, advanced mapping, infrastructure monitoring, and even future air transportation and air taxis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Previous calls have yielded impressive achievements - over 25,000 test flights, an advanced operating model for an integrated drone network, and the creation of a rich technological ecosystem that includes startups, research organizations, government actors, and security agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of the effort to establish the drone sector in Israel, significant regulatory progress has also been recorded and the establishment of a national infrastructure system for air traffic management (UTM) has begun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project has received international recognition and is considered one of the world's leaders in its field, thanks in part to its emphasis on cross-sectoral cooperation, the advanced regulatory environment, and the ability to test complex systems under real-world conditions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The third 'call for proposals' will continue the momentum of success, with a focus on expanding operations to new regions, longer-range flights, and integrating advanced commercial applications, alongside the development of core technologies in the areas of autonomy, communications, and safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
