Harish Mayor Yitzhak Keshet was arrested this morning (Monday) on suspicion of committing serious offenses, obstructing investigation and trial proceedings, and breach of trust. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was brought in for questioning at Lahav 433. Two other suspects were arrested with him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the police statement, the undercover investigation against Keshet began several months ago, based on the suspicion that the mayor had attacked and harmed several women, some of whom he had harmed within the framework of a relationship of dominance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is suspected that Keshet sent the two other suspects who were detained in order to prevent the victims from complaining. Several complaints have been filed with the police, and it is estimated that there are additional women who were harmed by the mayor's actions who have not yet contacted the police to complain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a report in Kan News, another person, who also allegedly acted on behalf of Keshet to prevent the complainants from filing their complaint, is an employee who was recently fired from his position after an article about the affair was published in the media. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In response to the article, the mayor posted a video online in which he denies the accusations against him and claims that this is a personal revenge campaign on the part of the fired employee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keshet's lawyer, Ofer Bartal, addressed the allegations and said that the mayor denies the allegations against him. "No offense was committed by the mayor. The claim that any offense was committed without consent is unfounded, and the matter is supported by evidence and will be clarified later.
