But the highlight is precisely the diverse human mosaic that makes up the legislators of the Knesset. What haven't they said about them, about our members of parliament? That they are hypocrites, liars and sycophants, and these are other words of endearment, in relation to public opinion towards them. And yet, it doesn't seem like anyone thinks that any of the one hundred and twenty members is stupid. After all, 'Knesset' and 'elected members of the public' are phrases that require a minimum amount of intelligence. And they have quite a bit of that.<\/p>\r\n
But this week, with the opening of the Knesset's winter session, an interesting law passed the Constitution Committee, which is more infuriating in its essence than it is infuriating in its stupidity. Exactly. The best man of the bill and the one who initiated it is a Knesset member with a rich security record in the People's Army, from whom it turns out that the 'champions of Esau' and the 'champions of Kenaz' can learn a lot. In the past, when the results of the law's approval in a preliminary reading were announced, the man boasted and wrote words of praise and laudation for himself, but between the lines, it turns out, the man revealed how much he understands the essence of the law that he formulated and that he had been crafting for over a year.<\/p>\r\n
And these are the words of the boastful MK: "Today, the conversion law that I initiated passed in preliminary reading. The bill will effectively open the gates of conversion by establishing 30 additional conversion committees throughout the country, with every rabbi of a local council or city being able to establish a conversion court. In addition, every convert will be able to choose where to convert, so that if one of the judges becomes strict or refuses to convert him, he will have the option of approaching another judge. I hope that the law that passed today will advance the legislative procedures and bring great news to the people of Israel."\"<\/p>\r\n
Pay attention to the general's dictum: "If one of the judges becomes stricter or refuses to convert, he will have the option of approaching another judge" - excuse me, does this man reveal his nakedness in matters of conversion and declare with a committee that his education in Judaism begins and ends with the piece of tarpaulin with holes on his head? What do these words actually mean? Because conversion is an admissions test (an audition in the Hebrew language) for a reality show devoid of predetermined rules that are at the discretion of "any rabbi or judge"? Doesn't the honorable legislator know that the rules for conversion have already been sealed and sealed in the ancient poskim and there is no reason to refuse unless the above does not meet the criteria, and as such, establishing another court with additional judges will not benefit him?! And maybe the law does not concern conversion itself at all, but rather the new 'dayanim and rabbis'?!<\/p>\r\n

How can such a disgrace be tolerated? How is it possible that the children of the squinty-eyed foreign workers and the children of the heathen who grew up here and were even born here in Jewish hospitals, will continue to roam the streets of Israel as Gentiles.
