As tensions between parts of the nation rise to new heights, in a week's time a miraculous phenomenon will occur - hundreds of thousands of Jews, of all shades, strata, denominations and political persuasions, will gather together in thousands of Passover seders conducted by Chabad emissaries throughout the country and the world. All barriers will fall, all prejudices will melt away, and everyone will celebrate the holiday together with a rare sense of brotherhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
How does this miracle happen? What makes people forget all their differences of opinion, ignore the accumulated baggage and the accusations that have been leveled? There is one answer \u2013 the love for the Jews that the Lubavitcher Rebbe instilled in his emissaries, followers, and disciples. When Jews feel that they are loved here as they are, they come and connect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Rebbe taught to see every Jew as a beloved brother. Even if he is alienated from the values \u200b\u200bof Judaism, he is your brother. Even those who think differently from you have a precious Jewish soul in them. The dust that covers it should not confuse us. Beneath the outer covering lies a precious diamond. Therefore, there is no room for dividing Jews, and everyone can sit together under one roof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A pan-Israeli perspective<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n These days, it is important to place before our eyes the radiant image of the Rebbe, overflowing with endless love for every person from Israel. Everyone who met the Rebbe or heard his words felt the love that beats in his heart for every Jew. He never uttered a disparaging or offensive expression towards a Jew. His entire image is filled with light, love, and the study of virtue. That is why he also succeeded in endearing the Torah and the mitzvot to millions of Jews around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Rebbe never thought in sectarian or communal terms. He had the whole of Israel before his eyes. Almost every day another amazing story emerges, illustrating the extent of his concern for the Jewish people. Jews from all walks of life tell of his involvement and care, and of what he did for them, sometimes without their knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Rebbe offered a perspective that transcends all party, ethnic, and class gaps. Not to look at the exterior but to the interior. The exterior image does sometimes erect a wall that is seemingly difficult to cross. The differences in worldviews and lifestyles seem like a gaping abyss between us. But if we peel back the exterior layers, we will discover an interior point that connects us all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Finding the common denominator<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This coming Wednesday, the 11th of Nisan, we will mark the day the Rebbe's holy soul descended into the world, one hundred and twenty-three years ago. It is a righteous day, a day of joy and awakening, a day of thanksgiving to God Almighty for planting this great soul within us. It is a day on which it is fitting for each and every one of us to awaken the memory of the personal contact we had with the Rebbe, and to strengthen ourselves by studying his Torah and walking in his ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Let us strive to open a new page in our lives of love for Israel, seeking the virtues of others, finding the common denominator that unites us.
