In a joint operation by the Shin Bet, the police, and the IDF, six terrorists from Nablus were arrested in recent months on suspicion of involvement in large-scale terrorist activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The joint investigation revealed that the terrorist cell planned to carry out shooting attacks and plant explosive devices in the Judea and Samaria region, while receiving direct instructions and significant funding from the Hamas terrorist organization's headquarters in Turkey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The interrogation of the detainees by the Shin Bet and the Israel Anti-Terrorism Service revealed that the members of the cell received tens of thousands of dollars from their operators in Turkey, funds that were intended to carry out attacks against security forces and other targets in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the arrest of three of the suspects at the end of January, they were seized with an M-16 weapon and a large sum of money, approximately $40,000 in cash. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another suspect arrested in the same operation handed over an additional $20,000 to security forces. Three additional suspects involved in the cell's activities were later arrested. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
All of the detainees were transferred for in-depth interrogation at the Shin Bet and the central unit of the Sha'ar District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the investigation, and with the help of information provided by one of the detainees, security forces located a powerful explosive device that had been planted near the Jith junction in Samaria. The wire device was buried inside a large metal case and contained explosives. The device was removed from the scene using a shovel and destroyed in a controlled manner by sappers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The investigation led to the full exposure of the terrorist infrastructure, including the cell members' connections with Hamas elements abroad and the methods by which funds were transferred to finance their activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The evidence collected during the investigation not only enabled the thwarting of the planned attacks, but also the formation of a solid evidentiary infrastructure for bringing all those involved to justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
