Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara Netanyahu hosted in Jerusalem today (Thursday) Nadia Cohen, the widow of the hero of Israel - "our man in Damascus," Eli Cohen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an emotional ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of his birth, the Prime Minister presented Nadia with a special, framed letter of appreciation that will be placed, at Nadia's request, at the Eli Cohen Museum in Herzliya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Prime Minister said that Eli's heroism saved many lives and was a tremendous asset to the country's security, and that his actions in Syria continue to inspire Israel and the world to this day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sara Netanyahu expressed her great appreciation to Nadia for her energetic and determined work to preserve Eli's legacy and commemorate him for future generations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Netanyahu noted that Eli's legacy and heroism have been burned into her since her childhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Prime Minister added that efforts to return Eli to the grave of Israel are ongoing and will continue until the mission is completed, as are efforts to return all of our abductees - both the living and the dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The meeting was attended by the coordinator of the IDF, Brigadier General (res.)
