Crossing the deadly Bermuda Triangle in a bubble: Reza Al-Baluchi, an athlete and peace activist, announced that he plans to cross the Atlantic Ocean in the area between Florida and the Bermuda Triangle, which extends over 1,660 km in an aluminum raft built in the shape of a large bubble. The Bermuda Triangle is considered an area with many dangers associated with it, such as a number of unexplained accidents, the most famous of which is the disappearance of five American bombers on a routine training flight in December 1945, known as "Flight 19." The Baluchi, however, made it clear on his website that he is well aware of the dangers involved in sailing in the dangerous area, but he likes to 'roll the dice', that is, take risks.<\/p>\r\n
The man took protein bars and mineral water with him on the long journey and said that he planned to get his food from the sea.<\/p>\r\n
To maintain his athletic fitness, Baluchi planned to run inside the 'bubble' every morning, and then rest on a buoy attached to his bubble-raft. For the night, he set up a hammock across the bubble. And how would the raft move forward? Baluchi prepared two openings through which he could thread his arms and row to the planned destination.<\/p>\r\n
So how did the journey end? Just three days after his departure, Baluchi began to suffer from exhaustion, and the US Coast Guard, aware of the activist's plans, arrived with a helicopter and safely separated the man from the 'bubble.'.<\/p>\r\n
This is not the first adventure for Baluchi. He previously ran around the United States for about six months straight, and over the course of seven years cycled through 55 countries on six continents.
