\u00a0From the data, it can be seen that the warning letter sent by the Consumer Council to the CEOs of the chains regarding its intention to examine price fluctuations in the chains during the holiday period resulted, for the most part, in discounts or stability in the cost of the basket throughout the month of September.<\/p>\r\n

This inspection is part of the Council's actions to combat the cost of living and promote the level of fairness in commercial life.<\/p>\r\n

\u00a0The CEO of the Israeli Consumer Council, Attorney Ehud Peleg, says that food chains are beginning to recognize the importance of fair conduct towards the public. "Consumers' willingness to vote with their feet and wallets when they witness unfair behavior by a store is a very influential tool in promoting the level of fairness in commercial life.".<\/p>\r\n
