Apparently, due to the period (the three kidnapped boys, the war, and the recent case of the late David Gordon), there is an expectation that any such case would receive national, if not international, attention. However, despite the fact that many volunteers came to help in the search, and prayers were held for Aharon Sofer, the case did not receive national attention.<\/p>\r\n
E. Some would say that the reason for this is the fact that Aharon is a Haredi yeshiva student, others would attribute it to his American origin. I have a different feeling. Despite the rumor that he was kidnapped, the fact that it was actually 'only' an accident following a loss of direction is what influenced the public's perception.<\/p>\r\n
F. It's also possible that at the end of the summer everything is so charged, with kidnappings and wars, maybe everyone is a little tired. Despite this, it's impossible to ignore the fact that the guy is indeed Haredi, and it's possible that this affiliation also had an influence. We'll never know.<\/p>\r\n
G. The first conclusion from this story is that no one is immune. You must behave carefully when going on a trip - and you will be safe. Institutions have a responsibility to ensure that students understand what precautions are - on trips and of course on the road, etc.<\/p>\r\n
H. During these days, there have been calls that the sad case of Aharon Sofer should be treated in the same way as missing soldiers. I did not understand the call and I do not think it is appropriate. To me, there is even something ironic in this statement.<\/p>\r\n
9. Why is there always someone to hit! Rabbi Blickwood said at a prayer meeting that we should pray a lot for the friend who went hiking with Aaron. Why?
