For over a year, historians and their lists have been recruited for a noble cause. What is the holy cause? To fan the flames in the sector and attempt to cut it in two.<\/p>\r\n
Groups of soldiers stand inside the field, waiting only for the challenging opening whistle of a new struggle in which the voice will be heard louder and more powerfully and with greater power, and the power of the hand will be carved from the stages of makeshift theaters. With a mock fanaticism worthy of admiration, like the guards of the Holy Guards in Jerusalem in another generation, the fields of struggle are given temporary names that provoke pause in the shadow of sacred public relations campaigns.<\/p>\r\n
The same values \u200b\u200bfrom which the mirages of this war are derived have never been an example of action in the world of Haredi Judaism, which is led according to the Torah view, which our rabbis have instilled in all generations. Action stained with the blood of a desire to force the continuation of the dispute and to differentiate from the leaders of the generation.<\/p>\r\n
From the edges of the camp, standing men are purchased, and as in a display, they are sent behind bars to demonstrate willingness and sacrifice on the altar of sacrificial work adapted to the needs of the period.<\/p>\r\n
Leaders of a generation are attacked for not embracing the new Judaism into their hearts and faith, the one that offers burnt offerings and sacrifices on the altar of the state. Torah luminaries, pillars of light, are vilified with helpless savagery by legions of the Fifth Army who are trying to destroy everything that has been built and drive the greedy young men out of their protected world, far from the world of Torah.<\/p>\r\n
The Beit Midrash is no longer a place to take refuge, it has become a barren place. The knights of demonstrations become leaders, and the actors of the movie 'Detentions' become heroes. Propaganda has become their main thing. The act of caring.<\/p>\r\n
Demonstrations? Only with the bigwigs at the top<\/b><\/b><\/p>\r\n
The cynicism and lofty words came to describe the depth of disgust for actions and behaviors that all of life has taught us to stay away from, precisely in that society.<\/p>\r\n
Demonstrations? Abolition of the Torah. Only with the Greatest of Israel at the Head<\/p>\r\n
Evading and failing to comply with orders? This is not our way.<\/p>\r\n
Going to prison? A spiritual risk<\/p>\r\n
Arrested? None of our business<\/p>\r\n
Isn't that how we were raised in Haredi society?!<\/p>\r\n
History has taught us that the nation's leaders' ambitions are not to pull the strings anywhere, to stand with a line that both sides can agree on. 'You will wage war with cunning' has always been the tendency.<\/p>\r\n
But their rabbis instruct them to 'go out and demonstrate', 'don't stand up', many will ask.<\/p>\r\n
Democracy in the Haredi world has long been cast into the coffin, a "faithful pillar" controlled by veterans who are no longer leading a serious farce in everything that concerns individual opinions, and recognizing their miserable place on the fringes of the camp, even when their errors in Torah and fear of God are higher than that of this or that label.<\/p>\r\n
Those penmen who hang their swords of pride on tall trees, they are the ones who allow themselves to be thrown into the chaos of the great and giants of a generation, the ones who are followed by tens of thousands of Israelites with their eyes closed. They always spoke of 'as much as you can', they are the ones who today simplify the title 'simple things' into practice and with pure wink they send square talkers and youths into the streets. Even their rabbis are not there.<\/p>\r\n

If I ask a yeshiva boy, "Why aren't we there with them at the demonstration?" the correct answer will be the same as Rabbi Wolf's answer on other days.<\/p>\r\n
It was election day, the seminary girls huddled together, the conversations were all about what was being discussed in those days: 'Who to vote for' and what the goal was. Rabbi Wolf entered the classrooms and asked, 'Why do we vote for a particular party?' The girls raised their hands, each one offering her own explanation. Rabbi Wolf stopped them and said, 'None of the answers are correct! We vote this way because the great men of Israel told us to.'.<\/p>\r\n
Do you know why we report to the draft boards? Because that's what the great men of Israel instructed us to do!<\/p>\r\n
Why don't we go out to demonstrations? Because the great men of Israel didn't order it.<\/p>\r\n
When the questions are systemic and the answers to them affect the whole, no one can stand up and say, "I will do it differently from everyone else."
