Tomer is a sharp-eyed pilot serving in the Air Force. Even at the initial selection stage, those in charge gave him their eyes. His combat prowess and many virtues led him step by step to the pinnacle of his glory, and to the pinnacle of Israeli ambition \u2013 to be the best pilots. Indeed, Tomer did not disappoint. His commanders saw him as the one to continue their operational path, and he saw the heavy vessel he commanded as his final destiny. Many bombings and operations that had not yet been allowed to be published were associated with the name of the illustrious pilot, and the future seemed brighter than ever.<\/p>\r\n
Tomer's cousin, Eyal, was also outstanding, and the commanders were also pleased with him. As an armor fighter, Eyal would return home with hair-raising stories about the bombings and heavy fire, about entering deep into enemy territory, and the scorching heat inside the block of iron that could not withstand the illustrious warriors. \u2013 The family members would warmly envelop the talented soldiers, and an aura of idolatrous honor surrounded them.<\/p>\r\n
But Eyal's exciting stories entered the heart of Tomer, the fighter pilot, like poison from a poisoner. The sound of tank tire tracks on the sand dunes and the pungent smell of gunpowder were what stood in Tomer's eyes and nose until he decided to take action.<\/p>\r\n
In a dramatic message he sent to his commanders, he wrote: "I am resigning.".<\/p>\r\n
To their astonishment, he explained to them that from now on he was a 'Schreuner.' "The flying hours I've accumulated are enough for me. The people need me in the tank," he replied, and left.<\/p>\r\n

Indeed, the story is delusional. It did not exist and was not created, and it is not even a parable. In the army, as in the army, there is no place for ridiculous statements of this style. Eyal is good as a tanker and Tomer is good as a pilot. The two cannot be compared, just as there is no resemblance between them. If the armored fighter's place is taken - we will lose the battle, whatever the reason. If the pilot deserts - he fails, and the fact that his body and skills are inside the armored vehicle will not benefit us.<\/p>\r\n
Just like that, the place of the soldiers serving in the sacred home front, in the yeshiva halls, should be clear and absolute.<\/p>\r\n
During Operation Protective Edge, we heard hollow and flattering statements coming from the mouths of those who wore black and wore burlesques on Shabbat, along the lines of "Your brothers went to war" and the like. Statements designed to get our fighters out of the seminaries and into the front lines.<\/p>\r\n
Their dubious explanation was what was going to hurt them. They admitted that the Torah protects and protects, and that's all well and good, but now is the time, they claim, to get out of the yeshiva halls and kollels and "really" help the soldiers on the front lines.<\/p>\r\n
But here the question arises: if indeed Yosef Chaim and Israel Meir were 'servants and fighters' in the midrash, who allowed them to defect to another army?<\/p>\r\n

But for some reason, while the hot light of the spotlight was directed last weekend at the cabinet members playing cat and mouse games with the Muslim murderers on the other side, the real fighters, the home front fighters, were somehow forgotten. These fire fighters, who give their bodies, quite literally, for the material existence of the people of Israel, dedicated and donated from their bodies, their souls, and the souls of their wives and tender children the thing most precious to them - 'time'.<\/p>\r\n
Not many know, but the many affairs and arrangements of the head of the family who sacrifices himself in the tabernacle of Torah are postponed and postponed until the days between times. These days of 'exchange of power' and release of tension are necessary for every person, and certainly for those who sit from morning until night day after day, toiling at their craft.<\/p>\r\n

And behold, the teaching came from the mouths of the great men of Israel, and thousands of young men and yeshiva students contributed their early days to the overall campaign, the system of existence in the people of Israel.<\/p>\r\n
The seminaries remained full as usual, and the kollel halls were filled with avrechim, as if the date had been a few weeks ago, as usual.<\/p>\r\n
To those who feed on the general media, this sounds like another illusory heroic story that never existed and was never created. But to us, the people of the Beit Midrash who trust in the words and instructions of our rabbis, these things seem like another obvious personal dedication during the difficult days of war for the benefit of Eyal and Tomer, the brave warriors on the front lines.<\/p>\r\n
