The National Knowledge and Information Center for the Coronavirus Campaign of the Military Intelligence warns that the morbidity situation in Haredi localities that were tested is very high compared to the situation in the rest of the country. This week, approximately 14% of all new patients were identified in the cities of Bnei Brak, Elad, Beitar Illit, Modi'in Illit and Beit Shemesh.<\/p>\r\n
Combined with the morbidity in Haredi neighborhoods in other cities in Israel, the share of the Haredi sector is approximately 201% of all currently active patients.<\/p>\r\n
The center warns that the relatively high density in these cities, the difficulty in isolating the sick, and the connections between the settlements and Haredi neighborhoods in other cities in the country require a determined and immediate dedicated response in the areas of enforcement, isolation, information, and assistance to the population - with the aim of quickly stopping the spread of the pandemic.<\/p>\r\n
A lockdown went into effect this morning in the city of Elad and several neighborhoods in Tiberias, after the special ministerial committee declared them "restricted areas" last night due to a rapid increase in the rate of coronavirus infections.<\/p>\r\n
The areas that have been defined as restricted to movement: the municipal area of \u200b\u200bthe city of Elad and the following neighborhoods in Tiberias: Ramat Tiberias B, Ramat Tiberias C, Neighborhood 200, Tiberias Illit neighborhood, and Ben Gurion neighborhood.<\/p>\r\n
According to the restrictions, which will be in effect for a week, entry into and exit from the restricted areas is prohibited, except for work purposes or participation in the matriculation exam.<\/p>\r\n
The chairwoman of the Corona Committee, MK Yifat Shasha Biton, was interviewed on the program "This Morning" with Aryeh Golan on Channel 2, and addressed claims that ultra-Orthodox areas are being closed while Tel Aviv also has an outbreak: "The policy is to close the hotlines so as not to reach a situation of another lockdown.
