On April 15, 1912, the Titanic, the world's largest ship, sank after hitting an iceberg with 1,500 passengers on board, changing the world's faith in the capabilities of modern technology. 102 years after the sinking, an exhibition is coming to Israel that showcases the extraordinary beauty of the ship, its rooms, halls, dining rooms, and more, alongside wreckage and artifacts salvaged from the sea, along with other findings that are now on display, allowing visitors to experience the reality in which the ship's passengers lived, moments before the fatal collision that became a symbol.<\/p>\r\n
The exhibition was designed with an emphasis on the legendary and human stories of the luxury liner and its passengers, presenting objects pulled from the ocean and the story behind them. Visitors to the exhibition are quickly sucked back in time to 1912. Upon arrival at the exhibition, visitors receive an exact replica of the boarding passes for the Titanic, and begin the chronological journey of life on the Titanic. They move along the structure of the ship, experiencing life on board until the moment of collision, by pressing their palms against the iceberg where the ship collided, while learning about countless stories of heroism and humanity. Through the artifacts found, they will marvel at the renewed experience and the sense of promise that reigned on the ship. In the gallery in memory of the perished, visitors will take the boarding passes to the ship and check the wall of memories to see if their passengers or friends survived or perished in the greatest maritime accident the world knew at that time.<\/p>\r\n
The RMS Titanic Company was granted the right to recover remains by a federal court in the United States in 1994 and sent eight research and conservation expeditions that found over 5,500 items.<\/p>\r\n
Over the past 15 years, over 25 million people have seen the exhibition in the world's largest museums, and now, after negotiations that lasted about three years, Hadran and Helicon Performances have succeeded in bringing the exhibition to Israel, which is on display at the Maxidome at the Tel Aviv Fair Center until 26 Menachem Av 5774, August 23, 2014.<\/p>\r\n
