Thanks to the hard work of the 'Guidestar' website development team at the Ministry of Justice - Corporate Affairs Authority and Information Systems Division, the website has been upgraded in a way that makes the public endowment register accessible online to the general public.<\/p>\r\n
From now on, you can browse the endowment register on your mobile phone or computer, and search the site by the name of the endowment and its goals, and obtain detailed information about the trustees of the endowment and the assets it actually manages.<\/p>\r\n
The site's advanced search engine now allows searches for specific endowments and broad filters, according to areas of activity, with the option of receiving information regarding submitting financial reports, obtaining proper management certification, and receiving government support.<\/p>\r\n
Additionally, for each endowment, you can find a description of the endowment's assets, as updated by the Registrar of Endowments, and the names of the trustees.<\/p>\r\n
In the future, the database is expected to also include the financial statements themselves, and advanced search and filtering options according to the nature and quantity of the endowment's assets.<\/p>\r\n
A public endowment means granting property in trust for public purposes such as education, welfare, religion, culture, health, and more, through a written document.<\/p>\r\n
The public endowment is signed before a notary or in a will.<\/p>\r\n
There are approximately 3,170 public endowments registered in Israel, currently managing sums of approximately 6.5 billion shekels and approximately 1,130 real estate properties, which were dedicated by private individuals and various entities to be used for purposes determined by those dedicators.<\/p>\r\n
These endowments are managed by trustees appointed by the dedicators or by the court, and the Registrar of Endowments supervises that the trustees act in the best interests of the public purposes of the endowments.<\/p>\r\n
The information is now accessible to any surfer anonymously and without the need to physically visit the Corporate Affairs Authority offices.<\/p>\r\n
Moreover, there is no longer any need to print the information; from today, anyone will be able to download a report of all donations from the database in Excel format, and work on it as they wish.<\/p>\r\n
The 'Guidestar' website is a tool available to the public for viewing the endowment register, increasing transparency regarding public endowments and allowing anyone interested in donating or receiving assistance to easily and quickly find the relevant endowment for them.\r\n<\/b><\/p>\r\n
