I too sometimes wake up in dreams of leadership. Political, business, economic leadership.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Lately I've been receiving information about all kinds of workshops related to leadership. Women's leadership, young leadership, leadership schools, and more. The colorful prospectuses promise great things and achievements for the future of the graduates of these workshops. As if any workshop can give a person the qualities of a leader, of a teacher of the people.<\/p>\r\n

Such a workshop usually begins with the following sentence: "Imagine the image of a leader whose path you would like to follow..."\"<\/p>\r\n

I was there once. It's obvious what the character that immediately came to mind was. Who is the leader whose path I would like to follow? But I couldn't explain to those present in the room the virtue of my leader. Because the character of a true leader doesn't need to be explained. You feel it!<\/p>\r\n

For each of us women - especially the Haredi ones - who lead a complex operation of home, family, children, cleaning for Passover, cooking, dishes, laundry, blinds and windows, and within this whole volcano they also make a living: working, earning money, and even managing to build respectable careers, the "leadership" germ creeps in.<\/p>\r\n

Each in the leadership field that beckons to her. One in business, the second in politics, and the third in commerce.<\/p>\r\n

Why don't we deserve it? I can do it better than this or that. Of course you can!<\/p>\r\n

In a sidebar. I also think that the Haredi are ten. I no longer hear the famous phrase "You are Haredi?! You can't be... you are actually ten"... but I'm tired of being ten in front of those who are unable to understand the Haredi way of life. I want to be ten in front of the one to whom I am accountable - God Almighty.<\/p>\r\n

The feminist winds that blew and still blow - albeit less strongly - reached the Haredi regions very late. While the era of post-feminism has begun in the world, here it is beginning to raise its head and demand. When I am asked again and again, "What?! You're not a feminist," I realize that something is wrong with the perception of Haredi women. I personally try to redefine my feminism and call it, modestly and literally, "Orthodox feminism.".<\/p>\r\n

Otherwise, there would be no meaning to me being Haredi.<\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Confusion created from the darkness of exile<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

Perhaps it would be better if, before the philosophizing and quibbles that are common in our region, we try to understand what feminism is and what a Haredi woman is, and only then will it be possible to bring up the phrase "Haredi feminist" again and see if it works together.<\/p>\r\n

There are those who claim that in Judaism there is supposedly inequality between men and women. These women founded a movement aimed at the "liberation" of women. They claim that since every person is created in the image of God, the value of women should not be diminished compared to men. The founders of the movement were caught up in ideas and actions that were the opposite of the Torah, and this for the noble goal of equality.<\/p>\r\n

In truth, all of this stems from confusion and lack of understanding regarding the status of women. Confusion created from the darkness of exile. This confusion causes darkness to be transformed into light and light into darkness. The opposite of common sense and the opposite of truth.<\/p>\r\n

In fact, this movement has brought about the exact opposite of its stated goal. It is precisely this movement that has created the deepest feelings of inferiority among women. For what could humiliate a woman more than being told that she cannot live and act in accordance with her personality and special qualities, and that she must make efforts to struggle, fight, and imitate men in order to resemble them, and yet being assured that in doing so she will be "liberated" from her bitter situation and thus express her wholeness?<\/p>\r\n

This is exactly what the feminist movement did. It completely eliminated the importance of women as women and the value of their special roles, and placed men and their roles as role models. In doing so, it imposed on women a record of lack of self-respect and pushed them to eliminate themselves and make every effort to resemble men.<\/p>\r\n

If they had founded that movement, following the path of the Torah, the path of Haredi Orthodox Judaism, this mistake would have been avoided. After all, the Torah explicitly stated that "a man shall not wear a woman's garment," and conversely, "a man's vessel shall not be upon a woman.".<\/p>\r\n

According to our holy Torah - the Torah of Life - each of the sexes has a great mission and its own importance, both in worldly affairs and certainly in matters of the Torah. The perfection of a man is realized when he does what a man should do. And the same is true of the perfection of a woman. This can only be expressed when she lives and behaves like a woman and certainly not when she runs to imitate a man.<\/p>\r\n

Two types of missions<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

True equality of rights occurs when each person reaches their full potential according to their abilities and possibilities as they have received from God. There is no reason for a woman to try to imitate a man and occupy the roles of men. On the contrary, when a woman tries to imitate a man and demands that she be given roles equal to the man's, a social gap and inequality are created. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Indeed, by pursuing the man's roles, the woman herself emphasizes that her status is less than that of the man, and therefore she demands to accept his roles in order to justify her very existence.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

There are no two positions here, one high and the other low. There are two types of missions in this world. Each one fulfills them with the tools given to him by God.<\/p>\r\n

The Midrash tells us that during the Egyptian bondage, it was the women who maintained Jewish morale and the social cohesion of the entire people. They were the ones who maintained an encouraging mood and strengthened the confidence of the men. They educated generations of faithful Jews who did not change their name, language, or clothing, and were even privileged to receive the Torah on Mount Sinai.<\/p>\r\n

And there is no place here to list all the women who acted within the framework of their mission for the benefit of the entire people. They did not demand equality because they never saw themselves as inferior to the men by their side. And it is clear that the main influence and actions of women were within the home - "all the dignity of a king's daughter within" - through modesty and Jewish family life.<\/p>\r\n

The holiday of Passover is eternal testimony to the fact that the Jewish woman - both at home and outside when the situation demands it - is devoted in body and soul to the Torah and the mitzvot: the purity of the family, the education of children, and more.<\/p>\r\n

These are the main foundations of the existence and redemption of our people.<\/p>\r\n

Jewish woman, right now, on the eve of Passover, amidst the sea of \u200b\u200bpreparations for it, you know that, to a large extent, the fate of our people lies in your hands.<\/p>\r\n
