But no one can take a break from any of the parshas of this week. The parsha that has passed and the one that is yet to come, live within us all the time. By the way, this is what \"living with time\" means to me. No matter where I am, even when I am in the big apple, I continue to live with time \u2013 with the Torah.<\/p>\r\n
In the Big Apple, in New York, I also allow myself to pick up Yedioth Ahronoth. Something I will never do in Israel. In the New York Times, on page three, I will always come across pearls from the conversations of the Rebbe, the president of our generation. Every time I am in the big city, I discover again and again that the issues of Bibi and Noni can at best cover the fish of yesterday, but the issue of the names of the Israelites who came down from Egypt is always relevant and accurate.<\/p>\r\n
To discover in the newspaper that the inauguration of the new president falls the day after the circumcision of my new grandson, who holds American citizenship, but much more than that, that the day of his circumcision falls on the day of the celebration of the great eagle, our teacher Maimonides, and to be reminded again of the famous saying, "From Moses to Moses, no one has risen like Moses.".<\/p>\r\n
What is truly the essence and essence of our existence? What is new in our narrow world compared to the new in its goodness every day, always the work of Genesis?<\/p>\r\n
I thought about this when the news reported the passing of singer Meir Banai and I remembered the process of repentance of the Banai family and the family of the Hebrew singer. Aviv Gefen is automatically putting on tefillin and Orna Banai is already seeing the light. I looked again at this concept called "returning to repentance," and as always, I found myself filled with admiration, appreciation, and admiration for these people who go all the way to our Father in Heaven.<\/p>\r\n
Which reminded me of the following story: A well-known Rosh Yeshiva for Baal Teshuvah, whose name I will not mention out of respect, came to the Rebbe to receive a blessing. When he introduced himself, he said: "I am Rosh Yeshiva for Baal Teshuvah." The Rebbe asked him: "Are you a Baal Teshuvah?".<\/p>\r\n
That great and respected rabbi thought that the Rebbe, due to his age, had not heard well and repeated his words again, "I am the Rosh Yeshiva of the Baal Teshuva." The Rebbe asked again, "Your Honor, a Baal Teshuva?" The latter quickly corrected himself again and clarified, "No, Rebbe, I am not a Baal Teshuva." The Rebbe replied with a smile and said, "Well, then maybe it's time to start...".<\/p>\r\n
A Baal Teshuvah is someone who has had a touch of evil and managed to escape from it. A Baal Teshuvah is someone who has raised evil to the level of holiness. If I cook well, I must raise the power of cooking to holiness. If you are talented in speaking, you must raise the power of speaking to holiness and return it to God. If you know how to play a good instrument or sing beautifully, it is time to raise your power of playing and return it to the Creator by using it for holiness.<\/p>\r\n
The one who repents is the one who took the evil into which he fell as a lever through which he ascended. To use the world, the boundaries, the Exodus, the evil, the difficulty, and from it to emerge to redemption - the Exodus from Egypt, is a descent that has the power of ascent. Like the descent into Egypt that was the one that was followed by the giving of the Torah and changed the essence of the world.<\/p>\r\n
The command to "bring the days of the Messiah" as it appears in the poem of the late Meir Banai reminded us of the knowledge that it is possible to emerge from exile and drown the Egyptians in the sea. The hardships of exile can be turned into a lever for redemption, and this is what gives us hope and faith.<\/p>\r\n
Because without them, it is impossible. When you scroll through the social media feed full of corruption, capital-government, intrigue, evil, lies, difficulty, and endless misery, it is impossible to live the day without those sisters: faith and hope.<\/p>\r\n
A little advice from me: Say goodbye to the Pentateuch of Genesis with its life stories, confrontations, conflicts, and emotions. Say "Be strong, be strong, and let us be strong," and move on with me to the Book of Exodus, the book in which the process of redemption begins, which will end with the revelation of our righteous Messiah soon in our days, Amen.<\/p>\r\n
