It seems that commentator Yaakov Rivlin, whose columns are published in the community, is only getting better with age.<\/p>\r\n
His close acquaintance with events that occurred decades ago, when he served as a commentator on the "Urban Camp," "Shishishi," and "Press Line," combined with his well-honed keyboard, made his column widely read.<\/p>\r\n
Here are some of his precise assessments published this year about the Shas party. The first, in the month of Adar 2, was when he described the party's threshold of sensitivity: "The threshold of sensitivity... is at the height of the heels and one must be careful not to step on it.".<\/p>\r\n
\""The veteran Shas MKs know that they are the past and he is the future," he wrote, referring to Yigal Guetta, the new MK who was parachuted into the Knesset plenum. "Everyone who was in Yishai's time is going home in the next term," he estimated.<\/p>\r\n
Rivlin then told how Deri is aware of the problem that Shas' achievements are not really being counted, how he tried in a desperate move to publish the phone numbers of the bureau members, as a gimmick that might save the party from failure in the next elections. "If the initiative succeeds, it will be defined as the brilliant political marketing move of the year. If that doesn't help either, the conclusion will be that the Shas brand has become a kind of 'remedy.' A brand that has been damaged beyond repair"...<\/p>\r\n
Three months passed, and in a column that appeared at the end of the month of Sivan, when the polls continued to beat Shas, Rivlin continued to analyze the situation.<\/p>\r\n
