<\/a><\/div>\r\nLast week, a senior delegation of the heads of the departments of Torah culture in Israel ascended the Mount of Olives. They met at the top of the mountain, near the grave of the great cantor - the late Cantor Yossele Rosenblatt.<\/p>\r\n
The delegation included the Director of the Department of Torah Culture at the Ministry of Education, Shmaryahu Herman, the Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem and holder of the Jewish Culture portfolio, Dov Kalmanowitz, the Director of the Department of Torah Culture at the Jerusalem Municipality, Yehuda Naftali, Cantor Dovla Heller, the regional police commander, producers and logistics personnel.<\/p>\r\n
The delegation was led by Rabbi Hillel Horwitz, director of the Jerusalem Jewish Cemeteries Council, who also initiated the unique meeting. In a conversation with Cantors10, Horwitz tells the secret of the meeting: "The Jerusalem Jewish Cemeteries Council, which I am privileged to head, places the highest priority on creating accessibility and safety in everything related to the Mount of Olives. We initiate many cultural events there for a variety of populations and sectors, and devote large resources to making the place accessible to the general public and connecting the entire area to bustling and diverse activity.<\/p>\r\n
\""As a continuation of the many initiatives that we are running in the Mount of Olives complexes, such as the celebration of the Bartenura that took place just these days, numerous tours and ceremonies, we are now initiating a unique concert of cantorship and Jewish music, the likes of which have never been seen in Israel.".<\/p>\r\n
\""The concert will take place on the Mount of Olives, near and visible from the grave of the greatest cantor of all generations, Cantor Yossele Rosenblatt, and will be dedicated to Rosenblatt's works and works related to the city of Jerusalem.".<\/p>\r\n

Cantors10 learned that the concert will feature the greatest cantors of the generation, Cantor Yitzhak Meir Helfgott from the United States and Cantor Dobla Heller, as well as other cantors and artists. The concert will be accompanied by the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra - Israel Broadcasting Authority, conducted by Jerusalem resident Maestro Eli Yaffe.<\/p>\r\n \r\n
