They will - and that&#039;s a good thing. So will the Mevaser, the Momodia, and even Yated Ne&#039;eman. Not before they divide the budget meat platter among themselves, of course, each according to his ability and the size of his party.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">But day by day, 90 days before the holiday, they are demanding the laws of the holiday, and three months before the elections, they have already turned the entire newspaper into an &#039;election newspaper.&#039;.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">The phenomenon began the previous week.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">The change: The previous week, the editorial staff did not know about the split that Eli Yishai would bring to Shas, and his name was still emblazoned in black on a newspaper.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">This week, a prize was awarded to the finder for his name and\/or picture.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">Deri, Deri, and Deri again. As usual. Elections or no elections?<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\"><strong>2.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">The campaign was already on the front page of the news pamphlet: &#039;One people \u2013 one basket.&#039; The cover of the current issue also tearfully reflected the poverty report.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">As if Maran HaGara Yosef zt&quot;l did not establish Shas, but to address poverty. Not to fight discrimination, not to ignite the fire of Torah in the fields and on the ground, not to restore Atra to its former glory.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">Eli Yishai, by the way, is not mentioned.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">What did people around Deri say this week? &quot;They don&#039;t respond to him.&quot;.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">Not responding? They probably are. On Channel 2.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\"><strong>3.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">There is also support for the president of the &#039;Council&#039; in the advertising issue of Koum Koum.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">There is a story about one of the last lessons of Maran zt&quot;l, in the twilight of his days. After finishing his speech, Chacham Shalom Cohen said to those present: &quot;You have heard the words of the living God from the mouth of our teacher and rabbi, the head of the Porat Yosef yeshiva... He imparts Torah to the people of Israel, that is all he does from morning to evening. He has a holy mouth! Be careful not to transgress his words, he has a holy mouth that is always engaged only in Torah.&quot;.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">Eli Yishai is not mentioned. But how can one imagine establishing a party, against the wishes of the council president?<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">The Shasniks are sophisticated. They will understand.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\"><strong>4.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">So that&#039;s exactly what Eli Yishai also plays.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">He repeatedly mentions the warm recommendations that landed on his head from Maran, whose framed picture he carried to the lobby of the Ramada Hotel.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">\"&quot;He is faithful to me...everything he tells you, as if I told you,&quot; the Rabbi zt&quot;l used to say about him.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">Well, what does that mean?<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">\"&quot;Conservative with us...&quot;\"<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">confusing?<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">The Shasniks are sophisticated. They will understand.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\"><strong>5.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">So it&#039;s true that the newspaper doesn&#039;t ignore Adina Bar Shalom (&quot;Maran Zia&#039;a&#039;s eldest daughter,&quot; and what don&#039;t you do to use the title), but not a word from Aryeh Deri about the Women&#039;s Council. Not even from the newspaper&#039;s reporter.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">This is what appears:<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">\"&quot;In a joint press conference held by Shas Movement Chairman Rabbi Aryeh Deri and Rebbetzin Adina Bar Shalom, the eldest daughter of Maran Rabbeinu HaGadol, announced that she preferred to give up her MK position in various parties in order to remain in the Shas Movement - the movement founded by her great father.&quot;.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">Rabbi Aryeh Deri said that in recent weeks he had several conversations with the Rebbetzin in which he discussed with her all the problems at hand, with the image of the father Zia constantly before their eyes. The discussions reached an agreement on cooperation and unconditional support for the Shas movement.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">What about her women&#039;s council? She talks about it:<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">\"&quot;Rebbetzin Adina Bar Shalom opened by saying...&quot; She talks about the decision to establish a women&#039;s council that will advise the movement&#039;s leadership, &quot;which Rebbetzin Yaffe Deri and I will head. The council will deal with the advancement of women, their empowerment, and their integration into management positions in Israeli society.&quot;.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">And what did Aryeh say about that? Nothing, except for &#039;every day&#039;.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\"><strong>6.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">When the Rabbi Amar says in an interview with a family newspaper that &quot;the people of Madon blocked my way to his house&quot; (of the late Rabbi Yosef), he doesn&#039;t sound like Eli Yishai&#039;s people who claim: The Rabbi appointed Aryeh under pressure?!<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">This, by the way, also reminds me of Rabbi Chaim Amsalem&#039;s claims: They didn&#039;t let me go in to see the rabbi and explain myself to him.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">Rabbi Amar says: &quot;Maran knew that I meant well. The doors of the house were closed to me, I was not allowed to enter Maran... I kept saying, I kept asking, I begged, but the door was closed to me.&quot;.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\"><strong>7.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">Does he support Yishai&#039;s party?<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">\"&quot;I don&#039;t get involved in politics,&quot; says the rabbi of Jerusalem in an interview.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">And the fact that his housekeeper, Nissim Alexi, was seen at Eli&#039;s press conference really doesn&#039;t reflect anything...<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\"><strong>8.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">And more in the family:<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">First, the newspaper reporter takes up Haredim10&#039;s expos\u00e9 from Tuesday about the plan in Degel Hatorah to remove Yaakov Guterman from his position as mayor of Modi&#039;in Elite, without giving credit. Well, that&#039;s it.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">However, he also does not explicitly write about the intention to remove him from the mayoralty, but rather is content with saying: &quot;His removal from the list is only the down payment; very soon he will receive the rest of the payment.&quot;.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">If you&#039;ve already taken exposure, why not publish it in full?<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\"><strong>9.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">You laughed, in the community.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">Didn&#039;t you bother sending a reporter to cover Eli Yishai&#039;s press conference?<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">Because this is what I read in your newspaper:<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">\"&quot;As a replacement, perhaps temporary, for Ariel, Yishai struck a deal with Jewish Home retiree Yoni Shtavun, and the two appeared together in the self-inauguration speech of the new movement&#039;s chairman.&quot;.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">As someone who was there, get an update: Stevon disappeared somewhere between the parking lot where he parked his car and the hotel entrance doors.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">The protesters are to blame.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\"><strong>10.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">I found a fascinating profile article about Eli Yishai in the community: from his work in the garage to the founding of the alternative movement this week.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">The poverty in which his family lived as a child, the fact that he was forced to help his father with the household finances, how his father lived off odd jobs and as a laborer at the Solel Boneh construction company, while Eli worked odd jobs and repairs and sent his wages to his parents.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">How he began studying with Rabbi Nissim Ze&#039;ev, and later became his assistant at the Jerusalem Municipality.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">Thus began his fame.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\"><strong>11.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">But the newspaper also lashes out at Eli Yishai in two columns.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">In one column, the writer asks: &quot;How many votes will be burned this time?&quot;\"<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">In a fascinating column, Zvi Jacobson recounts the history of Shas, as the columnist himself, as secretary of the Shas faction, remembers it.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">\"&quot;The &#039;problem&#039; with Eli Yishai is that he is one of our own, and not a scoundrel or a hypocrite like some of his predecessors.&quot;.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">Who does he mean, a scoundrel?<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">He still remembers how his friend, Rabbi Shimon Ben-Shlomo, &quot;ran around and ran on an independent list (Yeshi - United Tribes of Israel). Before the elections for the 12th Knesset, he proved that he had enough votes to pass the threshold and &#039;burned&#039; about 3,000 votes.&quot;.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">Then it was Rabbi Yitzhak Peretz with &#039;Moriah&#039;, who joined Agudat Yisrael in the elections for the 13th Knesset and resigned immediately after the elections, after his new members claimed that he did not deliver the goods.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">\"&quot;I will always remember my friend, Rabbi Yosef Ezran, who retired from Shas and ran for the 13th Knesset with &#039;Telem Emunah&#039; and burned 12,000 votes.&quot;.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">In the run-up to the elections for the 13th Knesset, they were preparing to oust him because he had shown excessive independence, and the conservative Rabbi Zia refused to accept it. The Council of Sages sat for a special discussion at the Shas House, then at the Wolfson House, and &#039;Rabbi Yosef&#039; was called for a kind of &#039;hearing&#039;.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">Until he was called to the code, he sat in my room and planned what he would say. I told him, Rabbi Yosef, do you want to stay on the list? Don&#039;t argue and don&#039;t try to prove that you deserve it. Do one thing: shed tears. Tears are something that Rabbi Ovadia never faces.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">He remained in the Knesset and resigned during the term, and ran for the 14th Knesset with a narrow margin of error.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">I remember the conversations with him. You will never pass the threshold \u2013 I told him. He was dizzy. He had &#039;absolute&#039; calculations that at the moment of the test shattered against the rock of the ballot box.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">This is a blindness syndrome that stems from the tide, which probably originated from cults of flatterers and liars.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">I was saddened and pained then by the sorrow of &#039;Rabbi Yosef&#039; no less than I am saddened and pained today by Eli Yishai. The sorrow increases the more the departed is loved!<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">\"&quot;Yesterday (Tuesday) this was of course the topic of conversation in the Knesset, both among the dozens of kippah-wearing workers who meet twice a day in the synagogue, and also among the few Knesset members who are unable to leave the building even during recess.&quot;.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">Israel Eichler, in a conversation with Yoav Ben-Tzur and Zuriel Crispel, wondered aloud: Why doesn&#039;t Eli Yishai join now, as the head of a separate list, and run with Shas together.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">Ben Tzur and Crispel had difficulty understanding the idea, and Eichler continued: &quot;Just like a flag and an association.&quot;.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">What innocence.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\"><strong>12.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">And another lashing in the latest column of Bekhila.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">\"&quot;&#039;The people are with us,&#039; the placards declared behind the back of the retiring former chairman, Eli Yishai.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">\"&quot;In all my house he is faithful,&quot; declared a banner above the stand next to which stood the man who pledged not to address the Shassi audience and only placed the picture of his teacher and rabbi, Maran the Gracious Yosef, behind him, for backup.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">If Maran were alive, he would call for support for my party, and so on the next day.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">You can&#039;t argue with someone or something. If Deri hadn&#039;t gone to prison, Yishai wouldn&#039;t have become chairman.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">If Nissim Zeev had not chosen Yishi as an assistant, he would still have continued to fill the chessboard with chess pieces.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">'&#039;The people are with us&#039; is a somewhat pretentious statement before presenting a platform, a party name, a list, and aspirations.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">But as Yitzhak Ben Aharon, one of the fathers of the left in Israel, said: &#039;If this is the will of the people, then the people must be replaced.&#039;.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">&quot;If the people are already with you, there is no need to mobilize Maran.&quot;.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\"><strong>13.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">And finally, one good word, and without mentioning the root &quot;Shas&quot;.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">In honor of Hanukkah, a community reporter is documenting a trip to Greece, &quot;for a bold and exciting encounter with what remains of the centers of Hellenistic culture that desecrated our temple two thousand years ago.&quot;.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">There he met with Yaakov Sargosi, one of the community&#039;s dignitaries.<\/p>\r\n<p dir=\"RTL\">\"&quot;The holiday of Hanukkah has been preserved in Greek folklore.
