The additional water is provided in accordance with the decisions of the Water Authority Council, and was received after professional discussions held by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the Water Authority, in which the Ministry presented the needs of farmers in the region and the importance of maintaining the continuity of agricultural production as part of the national food security of the State of Israel. These allocations will increase the stability of agricultural activity in the region, while preserving the flow in the streams for the benefit of the entire public. The decision was made after examining the state of water sources and agricultural needs in the region, water supply capabilities, and long-term impacts on the national water economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The ongoing strengthening of alternative water sources, the expansion of the desalination system, the rehabilitation of wastewater, and investments in transmission infrastructure, carried out by the Water Authority in recent years, allow flexibility in managing allocations for various uses and providing supplements for agricultural consumption, while preserving the natural water sources in the area.
