The parties discussed promoting strategic cooperation in the fields of ports, logistics, and railways, and strengthening Israel's position as a central link in the regional trade corridor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discussion focused on the need created in the wake of the war to strengthen regional supply chains and create alternative, safer and more stable trade and goods transport routes between Asia, the Middle East and Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation was attended by teams from the Ministry of Transportation, including the Director of the Shipping and Ports Authority, Tzadok Radker, Head of the Security and Cyber \u200b\u200bDivision, Avri Cohen, Head of the Public Transportation Authority, Idan Mualem, Director of the Policy and Strategy Division, Ofer Elishar, Director of the Freight Development Division at Israel Railways, Harel Even, and Director of the Foreign Relations Division at the Ministry of Transportation, Sharon David.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Director General of the Ministry of Transportation, during his series of meetings in the Emirates, was accompanied by Israeli Ambassador Yossi Shelly and the embassy staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meetings are a direct continuation of the meetings held by Transportation Minister Miri Regev during her state visit to the United Arab Emirates several months ago, when it was agreed to deepen transportation, logistics, and rail cooperation between the countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The parties emphasized that it was precisely the complex period in the region that heightened the strategic importance of regional infrastructure connections, led by the IMEC project, which is designed to generate stability, growth, and economic prosperity for all countries in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ben-Zaken presented to the AD Ports and Etihad Rail managements the Ministry of Transportation's vision for connecting Israel to the regional rail network, along with promoting collaborations in the areas of smart ports, digitization, automation, advanced supply chain management, and coordination of regional rail infrastructure. The meeting with the Etihad Rail management also discussed promoting rail connections between the Gulf states, Jordan, and Israel, integrating Israeli technologies into regional rail projects, and professional collaborations between the Ministry of Transportation, Israel Railways, and the Emirates Railways Company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meetings, the Director General of the Ministry of Transportation, Moshe Ben-Zaken, expressed the State of Israel's solidarity with the United Arab Emirates following the attacks it experienced as part of the war against Iran, and noted that the United Arab Emirates and Israel, led by the United States, stand together on the right and just side, acting resolutely against aggression, terrorism, and violence that threaten the stability of the region and international trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abu Dhabi Ports Group is a government corporation that acts as a strategic infrastructure for the growth of the trade, logistics and industrial sectors in Abu Dhabi. The group currently operates a maritime and logistics infrastructure network that includes over 50 terminals worldwide, alongside a fleet of vessels and integrated services that enable end-to-end supply chain solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Etihad Rail is the national railway company of the United Arab Emirates, committed to developing and operating a 900 km rail network connecting all of the Emirates, the main seaports, and neighboring Gulf countries. The company already operates an active freight network and is currently promoting a nationwide passenger train network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IMEC project, also known as the "Peace Road", is an international economic and transportation corridor designed to connect India, the Gulf States, Israel, and Europe through an integrated network of ports, railways, and advanced logistics infrastructure. The State of Israel's connection to the IMEC project is being promoted by Minister of Transportation Miri Regev, under the leadership of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and in cooperation with the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is expected to significantly shorten the time it takes to transport goods between Asia and Europe, reduce dependence on traditional trade routes, and create a new transportation and strategic continuum in the region.
