Lt. Col. (res.) Ido Fromer, the late IDF reserve officer, 56 years old, was killed yesterday (Wednesday) in a tragic civilian parachuting accident in the Ramon Crater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The accident occurred during a private civilian skydiving activity. For reasons that have not yet been clarified, Frommer's parachute crashed into the depths of the crater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upon receiving the report, large rescue forces from the regional rescue unit were dispatched to the scene, along with fighters from Unit 669 of the Air Force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After complex rescue operations in the crater's terrain, the forces managed to reach him, but tragically, a doctor from Unit 669 was forced to pronounce him dead at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lt. Col. (res.) Fromer, the late, served in active reserve service as a cell commander in the Air Force. Due to his being in active reserve service, the IDF decided to recognize him as an IDF martyr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His funeral will take place today at 4:30 PM in the military section of the Yeruham cemetery. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
