Eight months ahead of schedule: The first and central section of Highway 60, in the central section - connecting Gush Etzion to Jerusalem - was opened to traffic, and significant relief in traffic congestion in the area has already been recorded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project, carried out by the Ministry of Transportation, through the Moriah Company, is progressing at a rapid pace and is even ahead of schedule, with additional sections expected to open in the next two weeks, which will further improve traffic flow and travel safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Highway 60, which serves as a central and sensitive transportation artery entering and exiting Jerusalem, is undergoing a comprehensive upgrade as part of the project, transforming from a single-lane road in each direction to a dual-lane road with two lanes in each direction. The upgrade is designed to address the increase in traffic volumes, improve safety, and significantly reduce travel times in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At this stage, the section between Husan and the convoy junction, which opened with two lanes in each direction, has been completed and opened to traffic. The opening of this section is already leading to a significant improvement in traffic flow, reducing congestion and increasing the level of safety on the route. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The remaining sections of the project are expected to open gradually over the next two weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Later this year, the interchange in the convoy junction area is expected to open, including the underground passages, a move that will complete the transportation upgrade on the route and allow for full, more convenient and safer traffic continuity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
