When I think about this issue, tears come to my eyes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Today, near Prison 10, children studying Talmud Torah, little children, were walking, reciting Tehillim and crying. Don't you think that maybe there's 'something' here? Something that's hard for us to explain, we don't explain ourselves well on this subject, it's hard for us, really. You're right. Faced with the sight of the fallen soldiers, we don't have many tools to explain ourselves. But they took young men who were sitting and studying, uprooted them from their Gemara shelf and took them to prison. So there are also those, and I understand what the issue is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But there is a broad public that unfortunately rides on this issue (Shari Roth: I'm not talking about those, you're right). You know, even the Haredim know, that in a 'choice' war, anyone who plants a vineyard, builds a house, and marries a wife is exempt, but in a 'no choice' war, a son-in-law is taken out of his marriage. The State of Israel is in a reality where it requires people to serve, and then we'll also get to the side of social cohesion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n I am also concerned for the State of Israel, but also for the Haredi society that should have taken action. And I am very, very hurt by this general decision, not to take action at this time. In my opinion, it is not right. And as much as I love, and I love, and as much as I appreciate, and I appreciate, I cannot give up on this essential matter. We need it for security, we need it for education, it is part of our social cohesion, it is part of our social and security resilience, it is part of our ability to survive in such a difficult environment that we are in. And I think the rabbinical leadership would do well, I can't advise them halachically, but the political leadership would do well if they made sure that the Haredi society is an integral part not only in a political framework, in macroeconomic or microeconomic data, but also in the service itself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n "And things are happening.
