Word battles in the right feed: Defense Minister Yisrael Katz and former Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman exchanged barbs today (Thursday) on the X network.

The confrontation began after Lieberman, one of the opponents of the expulsion of Gush Katif, criticized Israel's security elite in a speech in the Knesset plenum, and mentioned the 'stain' in their political past: "Benjamin Netanyahu is voting in favor of the disengagement, but he was not alone: Yisrael Katz voted in favor, National Security Council head Tzachi Hanegbi is voting in favor. And who was the speaker, with what passion, with what passion did she speak about the disengagement - Transportation Minister Miri Regev."

Today he added, tweeting: "It is not surprising that the three top figures who currently manage the country's security - Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, and National Security Council head Tzachi Hanegbi - voted in favor of expelling Jews from Gush Katif."

Katz did not remain unmoved, and replied to Lieberman, who had previously threatened to eliminate Haniyeh within 48 hours and who throughout the war had doubted the government's readiness to act against Iran: "At least we eliminated Ismail Haniyeh and a few more in Iran and other places you said we would not attack."
