The Engineering and Construction Division of the Ministry of Defense and the IDF report significant progress in implementing the national plan "Northern Shield" for private protection on the northern border.
The 'Northern Defender' administration is currently operating simultaneously in dozens of communities located within 0-1 km and establishing approximately 1,900 battalions.
According to the latest data, approximately 1,900 battalions are currently in the planning and establishment stages, of which approximately 600 battalions are in various stages of completion.
Gil Galron, director of the 'Northern Shield' program at the Ministry of Defense: "This is a national, life-saving program, which aims to strengthen the security of the residents of the north. We are working simultaneously in dozens of communities near the fence to complete the construction of the battalions and give the residents of the north the best protection."
