The Binyamin Regional Council, headed by Yisrael Gantz, has been leading a large-scale strategic move in recent years to upgrade transportation infrastructure on all roads in the council.

As part of this process, the Binyamin Council announced today (Wednesday) four major projects that are in advanced stages of implementation towards their final completion.

These projects, with a total investment of hundreds of millions of shekels, are designed to significantly improve traffic flow, driver safety, and accessibility to communities, thereby strengthening settlement and the quality of life in the area.

Among the most notable projects:

Phase 2 of the expansion of the Shaar Binyamin-Jerusalem highway is underway: After the completion of the infrastructure work, a work order has been issued and in the coming weeks, work will begin on paving three new lanes on this central highway. The project, with an investment of hundreds of millions of shekels, is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion and shorten travel times to and from the capital.

Adding a lane at the Deir Kadis intersection to the Hashmonaim checkpoint: This project, with an investment of approximately 7 million shekels, is nearing completion. The additional lane will improve traffic flow and reduce congestion at the entrance to the checkpoint, thereby streamlining access to the area.

Construction of an entrance square to the settlement of Alon: With an investment of approximately 7 million shekels, a new roundabout is being built at the entrance to the community of Alon. Work is progressing toward completion, and the roundabout will improve traffic safety for residents entering and leaving the community.

Paving the access road to the settlement of Neriah in West Binyamin: Asphalt paving work on the access road to Neria has begun. The project team is working diligently to remove barriers and address needs on the ground, with the goal of opening the road to traffic by the start of the upcoming school year.

Israel Gantz, Chairman of the Binyamin Regional Council and Head of the Yesha Council: "We are proud to lead a precedent-setting process of upgrading transportation infrastructure throughout Binyamin. Beyond improving driver safety and comfort, these projects are an integral part of strengthening our grip on the area and the economic and social development of the settlement in Binyamin.

"We thank the close cooperation and support of Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Transportation Minister Miri Regev, the project managers, the Netivei Israel Judea and Samaria Region teams, and the Moria Company's projects department for their close cooperation and support. We will continue to work determinedly to strengthen the infrastructure throughout Binyamin, for a better future for our residents and the entire State of Israel."
