"Do not follow false advice and promises": The Yeshiva Committee today (Tuesday) distributed an unusual letter to all yeshiva in the country - under the title "Instructions for Students of the Sacred Yeshivahs" - warning students not to try to find independent solutions to regularize their military status.

The letter, sent at the behest of the president of the yeshiva committee, Maran HaGal Lando, stated that yeshiva students "harmed themselves in a way that is now irreparable."

"Some are acting with egregious irresponsibility in seeking 'solutions' that are far more beneficial than they are useful," the letter said, warning against "false advice and promises" that could cause irreversible damage.

Regarding trips abroad during the "interim" period, the yeshiva committee clarified that one should not leave the country for any purpose without the permission of the yeshiva head - and that "those who are not obligated to leave should refrain from doing so."

In the letter, the 'Yeshiva Committee' refers to the summonses issued to all yeshiva graduates from the ages of 16.5 to 28 to report to the recruitment offices.

According to the letter, after the first summons, there is still no order to delay departure from the country, but after additional summonses to which the student did not appear, as instructed by the elders of Israel, he was set an automatic draft date and a departure order was applied to him.

"Failure to show up on the recruitment date," the 'Yeshiva Committee' reminds, "puts the student in actual danger of arrest!"

The letter emphasizes that the offices of the 'Yeshiva Committee' provide assistance and help to students around the clock, and calls on anyone who has a question or problem to contact them as soon as possible.

The 'Yeshiva Committee' also addresses the status of 'sons of immigrants', yeshiva students from abroad who hold Israeli citizenship.
