Following the IDF's announcement of issuing 54,000 draft orders to yeshiva students and increasing enforcement against 'defectors': the Jerusalem branch is preparing for protest measures - and has launched a nationwide alert system called 'Black Color'.
The press release stated: "Contrary to the intention to send mass mobilization orders, this initiative is also expected to face setbacks, because tens of thousands of members of Haredi Judaism are determined and on high alert to protect yeshiva members, through the 'black color' communications system."
The system is designed to provide real-time alerts about deserter arrests, and to bring protesters to the area of the incident.
During the night, the system sent voice messages to tens of thousands of cellular devices belonging to the Haredi sector, including a call to join the "Black Color" alert system.
The message sent to telephones stated, among other things: "The army is stepping up its war on yeshiva students and we will not stand by. After the army's announcement of its intention to set up checkpoints to capture deserters at the entrances to Haredi cities, thereby terrorizing the tens of thousands of recipients of the orders - who are obeying the instruction of all the great men of Israel from all denominations and circles not to respond to them and not to cooperate at all."
The announcer invites you to join the service: "We are now joining the thousands registered in the system to receive a telephone alert at all hours of the day when a yeshiva student is attempted to be arrested, and at the moment of truth we will all be there with him to protect the world of Torah. We are not leaving yeshiva students alone in the battle."
