The refusal to accept female students of Eastern origin to seminaries in Jerusalem: This evening (Monday), Channel 13 reported that the director of the "Branch" seminary in the capital is planning to establish a separate institution for Sephardic students, in the same building - but with a separate entrance.

Haredi Jerusalem is in turmoil after administrators of Ashkenazi Haredi seminaries in Jerusalem refuse to cooperate with the municipality's placement lists, which were intended to integrate female students who were left without an educational framework - the vast majority of whom are of Mizrahi origin - for the upcoming school year.

The one who took advantage of the crisis that is affecting hundreds of families is Rabbi Mendelsohn, director of the "HaSanif" seminary, who decided to establish a new institution, especially for Sephardic girls.

According to the Channel 13 report, the institution will be established in the same building, only with separate entrances for Ashkenazi and Sephardic girls.

The Jerusalem Municipality is continuing its mediation efforts with the seminary administrations, but currently, hundreds of students are still waiting to know in which educational framework they will study in the coming year.
