The skies continue to open: The European Aviation Authority has lifted all restrictions on flights to and from Israel, announced Transportation Minister Miri Regev today (Monday).

A statement from Regev stated that the measure "will immediately affect major airlines that have not resumed their operations in Israel since Operation 'Am Kalavi' and the missile launches from Iran. Now, they will be able to return to flying to us and put Israel back on the international aviation map in full force."

The minister added: "From the first moment of the war, I made sure to maintain open skies, continuous air traffic, and an active Ben Gurion Airport, except for a few days during Operation 'Am Kalavi.'" The decision to lift the ban proves to the world: Israel knows how to defend itself and also ensure the safety of planes and passengers, under uncompromising conditions.

"I will continue to work to strengthen ties with additional countries and international airlines and ensure that flights to and from Israel are available, competitive and safe."

"I thank the director general of the ministry, Moshe Ben Zaken, the director of the RTA, Shmuel Zakai, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all those involved in the work.

"Israel is open to the world and invites the world to return to Israel."

Ben Gurion Airport was closed the morning after the attack in Iran due to fears of Iranian retaliation, and many companies canceled their flights until further notice.
